Tri Garden Internship

Unique opportunity to learn and practice professional horticulture within the context of three different historic, urban, and public garden settings.

Individual workdays will be split each week among the three gardens. Duties include daily tasks such as: weeding, watering, pruning, mulching, planting, integrated pest management, and occasional work with volunteers, garden guides, and garden club/ tours (as COVID parameters permit). Opportunity to experience public horticulture first-hand, nonprofit operations and to participate in a variety of projects. School credit is available. 

The successful candidate will be hired as a temporary/seasonal employee of the Delaware Center for Horticulture (DCH). $12.00/hour, 12-weeks minimum, 40-hours/ week with flexible start and end dates negotiated at the time of acceptance – possibility for longer term internship if schedule permits.

Landscape Supervisor

The Delaware Center for Horticulture (DCH) is seeking an energetic, experienced, and motivated landscape professional to fill its open Landscape Supervisor position. This position is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position reporting directly to the Horticulture Manager. There is potential for this position to transition to a full-time, year-round, salaried position after the 2021 season. 

The Landscape Supervisor should have prior experience managing landscape maintenance and installation teams, with the ability to provide oversight and supervision of operations, adherence to contractual agreements, scopes of work, and assurance of quality delivery. A diverse team of DCH Landscape Stewards can include seasonal employees, interns, and volunteers. Additionally, the Landscape Supervisor, with direction from the Horticulture Manger, will also collaborate with the Education Manager regarding on-site, experiential learning opportunities for DCH’s Branches to Chances®: Return to Work Program.

Grant Support Specialist

The Grant Support Specialist is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position reporting to DCH’s Grants Manager. This position is part of a small team responsible for the full range of grant-based fundraising for the organization. The Grant Support Specialist specializes in researching and vetting grant opportunities, assisting with proposal submission, grant reporting, and communications.

Director of Programs

The Director of Programs is a full-time, senior-level exempt position reporting to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for the direct supervision, administration and advancement of DCH’s mission-based and earned revenue programs. The Director of Programs is a member of the staff leadership team, which collaborates on long-term program strategy, advancement and sustainability.
