Garden description: Small city garden with year round interest.
Who are the gardeners: I do all the planning and work.
Why do you garden: For my enjoyment and entertainment.
How has gardening impacted you during this time: It’s an outlet, a diversion and helps keep my sanity!
What do you have in your garden? Early spring begins with hellebores, daffodils, forsythia, tulips, lilac. Then lilies—oriental, asiatic, day lilies; alliums, varieties Rudbeckia, dahlia, zinnia, pots of hibiscus, geraniums, hydrangea. Boxwoods anchor one side. Front garden has rhododendrons, azaleas, camellia, winterberry, wygelia with caladium, coleus and other annuals for color and interest.
Do you have any problems with disease or pests? If so, how are you dealing with this problem? This year I’ve have lanternflies, which I’ve reported to DE agriculture and I’m trying to eradicate.
