Garden description: South facing slight slope of perennials with blue and pink purples contrasting with oranges in the strong sun. The growing proportion of native plantings have also noticeably increased birds, bees and butterflies.
Who are the gardeners: I do everything with my husband helping out with the heavier tasks.
Why do you garden: For relaxation and exercise. To support the food web our native wildlife depend on. Homeowners who increase their native plantings can collectively make a big difference in reversing declines of many wildlife populations.
How has gardening impacted you during this time: Its a good place to escape to.
What do you have in your garden? Bee balm, salvias, coneflowers, rudbeckias, phloxes, lilies, coreopsis, penstemons, asters, irises, catmint, lavender, yarrow.
Do you have any problems with disease or pests? If so, how are you dealing with this problem? Rabbits mostly. We coexist.
