Planting Trees for Earth Day and Arbor Day
DCH has planned 6 events in honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day ranging from corporate tree plantings to tree demonstrations with grade school children.
The Delaware Center for Horticulture Receives Grant from Delmarva Power through the Delaware Nature Society
The Delaware Center for Horticulture (DCH), a local non-profit organization dedicated to improving the community through the power of plants, received a $10,000 grant from Delmarva Power through the Delaware Nature Society. The 2022 Delmarva Sustainable Communities Program grants are awarded to municipalities, recreational authorities and nonprofits for projects focusing on open space preservation, improvements to parks and recreation resources, and environmental conservation.
Art is on the menu at The Chancery Market Food Hall & Bar
Guests will be surrounded by an artistic experience, both indoors and outdoors. The Delaware Center for Horticulture collaborated with 1313 North Market ownership on the overall planting concept for The Chancery Market’s 10,000-square-foot outdoor plaza in partnership with Sasaki Associates and Ruppert Landscape. With a focus on native plants, shrubs, perennials, and grasses, the plaza gardens will invoke a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, featuring attractive changes in color and texture throughout the seasons.
The Delaware Center for Horticulture Plants Native Meadow Garden with Discover Volunteers at Newark Center for Creative Learning
(Wilmington, DE) – The Delaware Center for Horticulture (DCH) partnered with Discover, a digital banking and payment services company, to bring 15 volunteers to the Newark Center for Creative Learning (NCCL) school to plant a native meadow garden. The garden installation was designed to enhance the local Newark environment and provide additional learning opportunities to NCCL students.
