Garden description: Casual Perrenials
Who are the gardeners: Just myself. I love spring when all the beautiful plants come to life and I can again enjoy their beauty.
Why do you garden: It’s very relaxing and rewarding. I love looking at my different plants and their individual beauty.
How has gardening impacted you during this time: It’s never allowed me to get bored. I also volunteer in a rose garden in Wilmington with other volunteers, which has given me the opportunity to interect with friends at a distance.
What do you have in your garden? Because I have mostly shade, some years ago I began collecting hostas and hellabores. I have added a few ferns and some caladiums and coral bells for color.
Do you have any problems with disease or pests? If so, how are you dealing with this problem? I have had some problems with slugs on the hostas but have added some slug traps. We also have deer problems. I started using a deer product 3 years ago and it seems to have solved the problem.
