DCH’s Virtual Garden Contest Winners Announced
Wilmington, DE – The Delaware Center for Horticulture, in partnership with event sponsor Discover, is proud to announce the winners of our first-ever Virtual Garden Contest. With 64 entries, this year’s contest included submissions from gardeners of all ages – novice and expert alike – for their flower gardens, vegetable gardens, and container/kitchen gardens. Reminiscent of DCH’s past City Gardens Contests, this virtual contest gave gardeners an opportunity to showcase their spaces to inspire others to get outside and get gardening.
“As an organization with a mission to inspire individuals and communities through the power of plants, we knew how important gardening and being outdoors would be this spring and summer for people to stay active and remain grounded,” said Vikram Krishnamurthy, DCH Executive Director. “We were overwhelmed with the response we received from our first-ever Virtual Garden Contest and even more impressed with the amazing gardens our contestants created and cultivated. This contest is proof of how healing and powerful the simple act of gardening can be for the mind, body, and spirit at any age.”
